Android App Survey

As many of you have seen, I’ve recently gone offline to pursue a new income with Android phone apps.  It’s turned out surprisingly successful from a ROT (return on time) perspective.

My plan with this blog was not to become instructional, especially in areas I don’t consider myself an expert (app development included).  But I also received quite a few requests offline to describe the process of what I’ve done, and how I’ve made money recently.  So I’m opening up a survey to see if people want to learn. If so, I’ll write a 3-4 part series that I think would get a novice to making some sort of income with android phone apps (not iPhone because I haven’t done it).

If there is no interest, I’m OK with that.  This way I can focus on new apps that make me even more money.  :)  So if you have an opionion either way, please vote by leaving a comment.

Thanks!

  3. I would definitely be interested. Especially in the planning phase and thought process more so than the particular coding. I am thinking through an app now and I have no idea how to make sure I cover all of my bases and make it easy to use.

I’m definitely interested. Not too much in the technical (I’m sure there are plenty of books which can cover that in depth), but more about how you went about releasing/marketing/etc. $30/month is equivalent to ~$10k in savings from a diversified income source so it’s not small change.

    • Yes! That’s the thing about the ERE mentality – you respect $30. You can either look at $30/month as $10K in savings (actually I think of it as $12K with 3% SWR) – or you can look at it as 1% of your required income (my budget is $3K per month)

If I told someone at work I found a way to make $30/month outside of work, they would laugh at me.

  10. I want to see this series happen. I wouldn’t try to create an Android app because I lack the basic knowledge to get started (and would rather focus energy on my strengths), but I know someone who may be able to generate some extra income from this.

Oh please do a series. You can find tutorials for making apps all over but never from a perspective of actually making apps that people will enjoy and will generate a little income.
